If the Project is expected to lead to significant traffic impacts or deficiencies, the project assistant must meet LADOT to talk over transportation mitigation choices & corrective conditions right before submitting the assessment. Various transportation mitigation services must be explored while attempting to mitigate the significant transportation impact of the Project.
Each mitigation measure’s feasibility and adequacy & corrective condition should first get determined to LADOT’s satisfaction. The overall required mitigation measures then need to get determined by a seasoned decision maker. The proposed mitigation measures & corrective conditions should first get described in an assessment. So, let’s learn what exactly the transportation demand management measure means:
What are the transportation demand management measures?
The prime purpose of the mitigation programs is to minimize the project trips & vehicle miles travelled via transportation demand management tactics. Not to forget, a preliminary draft TDM Program prepared as pr the City of Los Angeles Ordinance should remain included in the assessment for any project that seeks trip generation amendments supported by the TDM.
When the TDM Program is acceptable to the LADOT, an applicant is allowed to reduce the overall total Project trips and VMT with measures proposed in a TDM Program. The efficacy of the measures of TDM included in the calculator on lowering the project trips & VMT must get computed using the calculator.
VMT reductions from TDM measures aren’t included in the calculator. They should be used when supporting research is there. One can find more information considering the City of Los Angeles’ TDM Ordinance requirements.
